In the 1960s, behind their home and across the alley was a dank and smelly pedestrian tunnel under the tracks on 4th Ave. As kids we called it The Echo. I don't remember ever actually entering it. We simply stood at the end of it and called out to enjoy the echo effect. I think we were too fraidy-cat to actually walk into it.
